Create a professional Linkedin.com profile. This is a MUST. 97% of employers use LinkedIn to research potential candidates. However its so much more then that, it can be used for jobs /hiring, profile searches, building new relationships/networking, service recommendations, Linkedin groups, strengthening old relationships, etc.

If you don’t have a twitter account, get one! You don’t need to have this service beeping on your phone all day long; just set up an account online and follow these links below. Check your account 1-2 times a day, you will be surprised how many job leads come in.

AIGA Design Jobs
The AIGA’s reputation speaks for itself and its design jobs section is a great place to find some amazing job opportunities. Many large and well-respected companies look for new and or experienced designers here.

Aquent is the global staffing agency for freelance/contract and temp-to-perm placement for marketing and design professionals.

Authentic Jobs
Authentic Jobs lists hot new graphic design jobs every week, both full-time and part-time.

The Behance job board is new, but growing fast so be sure to check their listings before the competition gets even rougher! I’ve seen some hidden gems hiding in their graphic design job board.

Corflot hosts over 80,000 graphic design portfolios and currently has over 700 job listings. Jobs are organized into a variety of design related categories. You can even subscribe to their job listing RSS feed and get personalized job alerts!

What Craigslist!!!
Don’t get too scared, you will be surprised how many jobs are posted here. Some are very legit, just take your time to scan through them. Some words of advice: don’t list your address on your resume, meet in a public place and get a contract on any freelance jobs you do. Also ask for 50% up front and 50% upon completion of job.

Creative Hot List
I love this site – On Creative Hot List you can search by location and on the far right it also shows level’s (senior/JR/mid-level)

You can search by title and location. Dice is a career website for technology and engineering professionals. A good place to search.

On Indeed try using “keywords” like Photoshop, InDesign, Layout, HTML, Flash, etc. You will generate more leads within your industry rather then just professional title searches

design:related showcases many great listings, including design management jobs, interactive jobs and many other design jobs requiring varying experience.

Filter Digital
Filter Digital is a great site to search contract work and freelance. They are a staffing agency but it looks pretty good.

You can search by location and industry on Freelance Job Search—Very cool!

Freelance Switch
The Freelance Switch job board over at freelance switch is another growing job listings website that has a variety of design, development, illustration and flash jobs.

Fresh Web Jobs
Fresh Web Jobs tends to lean more towards web design related jobs, but there are jobs for graphic designers on this site and you don’t want to miss any listings!

Google Maps
OK, I know this sounds strange. Type in “Advertising Agency” or what ever industry you wish to work in; then type in your region, zip code or state. You will be surprised how many companies are out there—right in your own backyard. Then research and network out to them.

Krop is one of the largest and most well known websites to find graphic design jobs. It has been around for a long time and new jobs are listed often by top agencies and design studios.

Motion Grapher Jobs
Motionographer Jobs is a free job board for opportunities in: Broadcast design, Motion graphics, 3D animation, Interactive design, Live action production, Graphic design, Visual effects and Producing

Post and Search Jobs Free
This site is so easy to use and you can find so many local jobs within your industry. Most of these jobs are not even posted on the standard job site. Try you luck, I’m sure you’ll love it.

Simply Hired
Simply Hired is a great site to check because it shows design job listings from many different websites. It also has filter options so you can easily weed out listings that do not appeal to you.

Smashing Magazine
Smashing Magazine a large design related blog, also has a job board with design and development jobs. The listings are organized into full-time and freelance positions for easier navigation.
